120 servers were used for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games

The Chinese have offered the most expensive and spectacular opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. They have used Axon Media Server with XP Embedded as part of the largest infrastructure used in an event live.

With an audience of 4,000 million people worldwide and 91,000 people witnessing the live event in the national stadium in Beijing. 15,000 people attended the opening ceremony dramatizando 5,000 year history of the country.

The hardware used to provide special effects in real time of the event were 120 AXON Media Server High End Systems, which is a technology leader in digital video and lighting specializes in live events.

The Axon Media Server housed in the national stadium pequinés, are configured with Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, HD2900XT ATI graphics chip and 320 GB hard drive. The operating system installed on the machines is Windows XP Embedded with DirectX, DirectShow, and NET Framework 2.0.
