China is aimed at Web 2.0
Although censorship in this country on the Internet is already almost legendary, several entrepreneurs are trying to bring the “Web 2.0″ to China, with projects that try to emulate the success of the alternatives have emerged in the U.S., especially as regards to online video.
The video sites on the Internet in China serve as a real alternative precisely and without censorship to the country’s limited television, so the success of these portals could be even larger than the one with YouTube in the United States and the rest of the world. The CEO of Tudou, Gary Wang, has initiated this project with a not inconsiderable investment of $ 85 million, and is one of the greatest exponents of this movement to Web 2.0 for several projects in China.
“We see it as a direct substitute for television programming, for the simple reason that television china is really boring,” said Wang.
Something similar has happened with the music segment in the country now has another player called Yobo and pretending to be a place to find music and share it easily. It is clear that more and more projects are trying to start up in this country.
